Wow, comics fans are also really smart because you are another person responding who makes an excellent point. I would even add that this simplistic worldview is the norm through Moore’s 1980s comics heyday. He stopped reading comics from the big houses just when the industry was taking the inspiration he and Miller and Gaiman, et al., gave them to make these stories more complex.

I loathe terms like “high” and “low” art, though I understand their utility. Still, a powerful movie about grief that would win Oscars is difficult enough to do, but to also do that while adding in the elements that make the MCU what it is? That’s as high as art can get in my book. Thanks so much for adding to the discussion.
